CHANNEL ONE with JAH T and MIKEY DREAD is one of the World's Top Sound Systems playing Roots & Culture music
30 Years ago, in the 1970's CHANNEL ONE SOUND SYSTEM started in the Era of the house parties / blues dances they went on the play in venues that would become famous including The Leyton Youth Club, The Four Aces, Brixton Recreation amongst others.
From 1983 CHANNEL ONE was the first Sound system to take Roots/ Dub music internationally, to colleges, polytechnics and Universities
Thier first international dance was in Italy in 1990, and since then they have played many ledgendary sessions accross Europe, Israel, Turkey, New Zealand and Austrailia.
In 2009 the sound celebrated it's 26th Year at Notting Hill Carnival, Europes biggest Street Festival.
CHANNEL ONE SOUND SYSTEM's Message is to break down barriers through spund sysytem with the word sound and power of Rastafari.
